ABOUT DR. LAWSON
Dr. Steve Lawson graduated from the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Dentistry in 1986. While general dentistry was initially his focus, he soon developed a keen interest in Orthodontics and the dynamics of the growing face. Over the past 32 years Dr Lawson has completed extensive training from leaders in Functional Jaw Orthopedics, Myofunctional Therapy, Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMD), Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and Orthodontics.
Dr. Lawson has been treating TMJ, snoring and sleep apnea exclusively for over 10 years and in January 2008 joined an elite group of practitioners who have trained under the mentorship of Dr. Steven Olmos, founder of the TMJ and Sleep Therapy Centre. Today the practice is one of Fifty TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centres spanning seven countries including The Craniofacial Pain Center at the University of Tennessee.
Dr. Lawson is also part of an elite group of dentists who have achieved certification to treat snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea with Oral Appliance Therapy. In July 2011 he achieved his Diplomat Status in the Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorders Disciplines, an internationally known certifying body providing education and training to dentists, physicians and other health care practitioners interested in the treatment of sleep breathing disorders.
ABOUT DR. OLMOS
Dr. Steven Olmos has been in private practice for over 30 years with the last 25 years devoted to research and treatment of Craniofacial Pain, TMD, and Sleep Disordered Breathing. He obtained his DDS from USC (University of Southern California) School of Dentistry and has continued his education with over 4,000 hours dedicated to research and treatment in the field of mandibular orthopedic dysfunction and sleep disordered breathing. Dr. Olmos is board certified in both craniofacial pain and dental sleep medicine. He is the founder of TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centres International with 50 licensed Centres spanning 7 countries dedicated exclusively to the treatment of these disorders. Dr. Olmos is an adjunct professor at the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry and has been honored for his contributions to dentistry with Fellowship in the Academy of Dentistry International and the 2008 AACP Haden-Stack Award for his contributions to education in the field of TMD and Craniofacial Pain.
These protocols are an assimilation of his knowledge base which is reflected by his certifications in all philosophies of treatment both medical and dental.
